Ignite Analytics, a customer analytics firm out of MIT, predicts that Tom Brady will pass for 5197 yards this year, eclipsing Dan Marino’s 24-year-old NFL record for passing yards in a single season.
Cambridge, MA (PRWEB) September 5, 2008 — Tom Brady will be even better than last year. At least that’s what Ignite, an MIT-based customer analytics firm, claims. Using a predictive model that incorporates 27 different factors, Ignite projects Brady to be historically good in 2008, breaking Dan Marino’s 24-year-old record for passing yardage in a season.
“Tom Brady’s touchdowns will be down and his interceptions will be up,” says Matt Thomson, VP of Business Development at Ignite, “But his yardage will be off the charts. Our model has him throwing for 5197 yards.”
Ignite specializes in predictive models that help businesses better understand which products their customers will want next. But Ignite also likes to turn its statistical talents to less business-oriented pursuits - namely, fantasy football. Said CEO Doug Bright, “Being from the Boston area, it’s nice to see that Brady will do well this year. But we really built the models so that we could dominate our fantasy football leagues.”
Ignite’s full quarterback predictions for the upcoming NFL season can be found on the Ignite blog at Quarterback Predictions for the 2008 Fantasy Football Season
